2017 Bucket List

December 28, 2016

New Year’s Resolutions. Nope. Just a list for me. A 2017 Bucket List of personal goals that I have to accomplish. The only deadline is in a year. #wecandoit ! Do you have any specific plans this year? I have a feeling 2017 is going to be awesome.

I look back over 2016 and my first thought is ‘What a horrible year’ – due to my health and it’s burden on every bit of the daily grind. But then I reeeeeally look at all of the moments, places I went with my family, conversations I had with others, photos I’ve captured personally and for clients, taking part in their wedding day or newborn moments, the gifts I’ve received and didn’t deserve, the opportunities that lie ahead and then I realize… ‘Wow. It’s been a big year, full of good times and memories.’ Sure there were losses, from money to a few of my chickens (who were like pets), but in the end, the gains and growth have been more propelling. So here is my Bucket List. It’s not much but it is to me. I might even add to it, but here is the top ten…

  1. Be completely healed of candidasis (I just want a big cheeseburger with everything!)
  2. De-clutter / Organize (obviously an on-going process)
  3. Publish one of my books that are in progress
  4. Travel somewhere new, preferably road trip
  5. Organize my personal photos
  6. Paint my kitchen (I’m done with avocado green)
  7. Take my Grandma to the beach
  8. Plan more ‘unplanned’ adventures
  9. Finish a knitting project (yep, the 3-year Dr. Who scarf….)
  10. A top-secret ‘to-do’ :)

I feel you on this. I need to do 2, 3, & 5 for myself! I’ve been “working on” a boom for about 3 years now. I really need to carve out time to finish it. I think you have motivated me to do so. Thank you!

Well, you know what my 2016 was like. My word for 2017 is Refresh. I want to hit the refresh button on everything and start over with a clean slate – on to better things. I also want to BE refreshed and to be refreshING to others.

I’m wildly curious about your books (even more than your top secret to do – I’m such a nerd!). What sort of books are you writing? Will you self-publish? I’ve always wanted to write a book (NaNoWriMo).

That is an excellent word, Ava! And yes, I know you’ve had quite a year that I can’t compare. It’s hard to see the good side of things because there are no replacements for your mom. I know Gracie has so many memories of the time spent with her, she will cherish especially when she is older. Love to you and lots of peace and joy while you ‘refresh’!!!
